This website was developed by a committee of concerned citizens, the Arkansans Against Cap and Trade.  The purpose of the committee is to provide the people of Arkansas with information concerning the negative impact that legislation currently being considered by Congress would have on our economy. 

As written, the Waxman-Markey bill (H.R. 2454, also known as the American Clean Energy and Security Act) will unnecessarily increase energy prices all Americans pay and result in the elimination of thousands of jobs in the midst of a recession. This bill has already passed the House and is now under consideration in the Senate.
